
An investigation is continuing after a serious crash involving a pick-up truck and an electric bike on Percy Street in Colborne, say Northumberland OPP.
Emergency crews responded to the crash just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.
In their latest update, police confirmed the 27-year-old operator of the bike was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The individual was then airlifted to a Toronto hospital, said police.
Injuries were previously reported as serious. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The crash shut down Percy Street between King and Church streets, with police asking people to avoid the area into the evening.
OPP said the road also had to remain closed for technical collision investigation members to document the scene. Updates will be provided when available, added police.
Investigators had cleared the scene and the road reopened just before 7:30 p.m.
Police are also asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anyone who has video or dashcam footage of the collision to contact Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
