The Carrying Place swing bridge will be temporarily closed to all traffic for several nights later this month due to maintenance work.
The City of Quinte West says the closures are set for Nov. 12 to 14 and Nov. 17 to 21 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
In between these dates – on Nov. 15 and 16 – the bridge will be open as normal.
The bridge connects County Road 33/Loyalist Parkway across the Murray Canal, just north of Carrying Place. During the nightly closure period, officials say northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured via the Brighton Road swing bridge on County Road 64, which is about five kilometres to the west.
City staff note that access will be maintained for emergency vehicles during the closure.
