A set of coloured stairs and a community centre both received an illegal paint job, according to the latest debrief from Northumberland OPP.
Northumberland OPP says police are investigating two separate incidents of mischief involving graffiti and property damage in Brighton and Campbellford.
In Brighton, Pride-coloured steps leading to a church on Prince Edward Street were defaced with grey spray paint on Nov. 24, along with graffiti on the door and wall. Police believe three individuals were involved.
In Campbellford, a community centre on County Road 38 was vandalized overnight between Dec. 2 and 3. Suspects spray-painted inside the building and damaged lights and windows. It’s unclear how many individuals were involved.
OPP does not believe the incidents are connected. Both investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is being urged to contact Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Peterborough & Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 705-745-9000.
When you contact Crime Stoppers you remain anonymous, you will never have to testify, and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000, noted police.
