You’re invited to bust out your skates and kick-off 2025 in style in Quinte West.
The City of Quinte West is hosting its Skate and Social with Council event this Sunday, Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena.
The event is free, with residents and families able to catch up with council and city staff on and off the ice.
“On behalf of Quinte West council, my fellow councillors and I look forward to meeting and talking to local residents at this year’s annual Skate and Social event,” said Mayor Jim Harrison.
“We’re proud to offer this free, casual opportunity for residents to get out, spend time with family and friends, and connect and share ideas with their local leaders at the start of the year.”
There will also be complimentary refreshments and family-friendly activities in the arena lobby.
Participants are encouraged to wear CSA-approved safety equipment, including head, eye and facial protection while on the ice, noted officials.
The city posts information on winter activities via its website.
As previously reported, Brighton council’s New Year’s Levee Skate and Social event is set for Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.
