A 32-year-old Brighton man is facing charges after a traffic stop in Belleville.
According to the Belleville Police Service, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at about 6:40 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle in the city’s east end after an automatic licence plate recognition hit showed a suspended driver attached to the vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped after the licence plate information allegedly revealed that the registered owner was suspended for unpaid fines.
During the investigation, the service said the officer also discovered there was no valid insurance on the vehicle.
As a result, police said a 32-year-old Brighton man was charged with driving while under suspension and driving with no insurance.
The driver was issued a summons for provincial offences court in February, reported police.
