Six Quinte West residents are facing charges after police say they executed a warrant and seized suspected cocaine and crystal meth and cash.
The investigation was conducted by OPP’s East Region community street crime unit, said Quinte West OPP, on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.
Police said the crime unit, with help from OPP emergency response team members, the canine unit and Quinte West officers, executed a search warrant at an Adrian Court residence on Thursday. The warrant resulted in six people being taken into custody, added OPP.
Officers allege they seized more than 17 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 14 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and $800-plus in cash. In addition, police said they seized items typically associated with drug-trafficking, including cellphones, digital scales and a digital video recorder.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 24-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
A 33-year-old resident was also charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, in addition to failure to comply with a probation order.
Another four individuals – ages 55, 46, 55 and 40, all from Quinte West – were also charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
