
A Cobourg police investigation into alleged illegal drug activity led to the execution of two search warrants on John Street, resulting in the seizure of more than $240,000 worth of drugs and weapons earlier today, say police.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, members of the Cobourg Police Service’s criminal investigations bureau (CIB), assisted by Port Hope police, OPP tactical units, the Belleville canine unit, and special constables, searched 351 and 353 John St. According to police, officers allegedly seized 344.5 grams of fentanyl, 125 grams of cocaine, 46 grams of heroin, and 3.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with $2,852 in cash, crossbows, and imitation firearms.
Police said the fentanyl recovered represents about 3,445 potentially fatal doses.
As a result of the investigation, police said four Cobourg residents were arrested and charged with multiple offences.
Cobourg residents Mark Gordon, 36, Shauna Wilson, 36, Kayla Gibson, 29, and Andrew Puffer, 39, were jointly charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Gordon and and Wilson were also jointly charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – heroin
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Produce a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
Gordon and Wilson were further charged with:
• Possession of weapon contrary to prohibition order
All four accused were held in custody for a bail hearing, reported police, on Thursday.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
