Cobourg police and fire have cleared the area at the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC) and say there is no concern for public safety following an earlier report of a suspicious package found at the building.
In an update Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, police confirmed resources had cleared the area and that the package was deemed not suspicious.
“There is no concern for public safety at this time. Thank you for your patience and co-operation,” said police.
As previously reported, the report of a suspicious package initially prompted an evacuation of the CCC as a precaution and as the investigation continued, said police.
No other details have been released.
