Northumberland OPP say there have been no major injuries reported following multiple crashes along Hwy. 401 Thursday as a winter storm blasted through the region.
Here is the latest on collisions:
In an update Thursday morning, police confirmed a single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle on its side near the Division Street/County Road 45 area had been cleared. The vehicle was removed, and resources cleared the area just after 7:30 a.m.
The crash shut down two eastbound lanes earlier this morning.
Meanwhile, another collision was confirmed on Hwy. 401 westbound at Burnham, with emergency crews responding just before 8 a.m. The single-vehicle crash involving a pick-up truck had the left lane blocked, but traffic was passing on the right initially, said OPP. In an update just before 9 a.m., police said the collision had been cleared and all lanes were open.
Just before 7:30 a.m., another collision westbound, east of Toronto Road in Port Hope, involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer had the two right lanes blocked. A single lane of traffic was passing on one side, noted OPP.
Police said a tow truck was at the scene on Toronto Road but warned cleanup make take some time.
As previously reported, there was also a crash involving two tractor-trailers overnight in Port Hope.
