Quinte West OPP say they’ve recovered another two stolen vehicles from the Greater Toronto Area as traffic enforcement efforts continue along Hwy. 401.
Earlier this week, in a separate incident, police also reported that enforcement efforts along the highway helped recover a stolen vehicle from the Toronto area. (Note: No connection was reported to these incidents.)
In the latest incident, police said on Wednesday, Feb. 12, just after 2 a.m., officers checked on a tractor-trailer at the ONRoute on Hwy. 401 eastbound in Quinte West.
As part of the investigation, OPP said officers allegedly discovered there were two stolen vehicles on a sea container on the trailer. A 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and a 2024 Toyota Tundra were earlier reported stolen between Feb. 2 and 7, 2025, from the GTA, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 33-year-old man from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que., was charged with two counts of trafficking in property obtained by crime, and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
