Students looking for summer work have options in Brighton, says the municipality.
The Municipality of Brighton says it’s currently recruiting students for nine positions.
Under parks and recreation – to help with maintenance of parks, gardens, sports fields, cemeteries, trails and boat launches – there are four positions available for summer students.
Meanwhile, under public works, the municipality is also looking to fill another four positions. In these roles, students will gain hands-on experience with the construction and maintenance of municipal roads, ditches and culverts, say staff.
Finally, there is one Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA) position available. In this role, the successful candidate will help with street cleaning, weeding, planting, trimming and other duties as assigned, according to the municipality.
Qualified candidates need to submit cover letters and resumes clearly marked with appropriate job titles before 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 23 via email at hr@brighton.ca, noted municipal staff.
Further details on the gigs are available online via the municipality’s website.
“We thank all applicants but only those selected for an interview will be contacted,” added staff.
