The Apple Blossom Tyme Festival, a long-running tradition in Cramahe Township, has been cancelled for 2025.
Festival chair Erick Baron-Joyner announced the decision on March 27, stating that a lack of volunteer support, reduced community engagement, and financial challenges contributed to the cancellation.
“A lot of effort and manpower is needed to organize a festival to the scale of ours, and in 2024 we simply did not see the support, the engagement or the volunteer turnout as in years prior,” said Baron-Joyner.
Despite successfully hosting the 2024 festival with a small team of volunteers, organizers faced several obstacles. These included poor attendance at fundraisers, limited financial backing from local businesses, and confrontations with drivers ignoring posted road closures.
Baron-Joyner emphasized that this is not the end of the Apple Blossom Tyme Festival. The Board of Directors will take the coming months to restructure and potentially rebrand the event to ensure a sustainable return in 2026.
“Community events require community support,” said Baron-Joyner. “We need your support to make it happen – let’s look forward to 2026!”
Organizers say fundraisers and volunteer opportunities are expected to begin as early as this fall.
