As the 2025 federal election nears, the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host a candidate forum.
The event, which is being organized for the benefit of the business community and broader public, will bring Bay of Quinte candidates together representing parties with at least one seat in parliament, explains the chamber.
This means Liberal candidate Chris Malette; Green candidate Erica Charlton; NDP candidate Kate Crothers, and incumbent Conservative candidate Ryan Williams have received invites.
At press deadline, Elections Canada also had no additional candidates confirmed so far in the race. A final list is supposed to be released by Elections Canada later today (Wednesday, April 9.)
The forum is set for next Wednesday, April 16 starting at 4 p.m. Residents will also be able to live-stream the forum via the chamber’s YouTube channel.
The forum is anticipated to go until about 5:30 p.m.
Chamber organizers say all candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves and outline key issues they’re campaigning on. Afterwards, candidates will field questions submitted in advance.
Residents wanting to submit questions are asked to email manager@quintewestchamber.ca.
