Changes are coming to Brighton council closed sessions.
According to the Municipality of Brighton, effective Monday, April 14, 2025, all in-camera sessions for council and council planning meetings will start at 5 p.m. versus 5:30 p.m.
Under regular meetings, it’s business as usual – meetings will continue to start at 6:30 p.m.
Closed (or in-camera sessions) are permitted under the Municipal Act for specific purposes, such as a land acquisition or disposition of land, labour relations, litigation, education and/or training, or personal matters about an identifiable individual, as a few examples.
Brighton council meets next for its planning meeting Monday, April 14 and then again for its next regular session on April 22.
