
A Warkworth resident is facing impaired driving charges after an alleged incident over the weekend.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., Northumberland OPP said police received a traffic complaint about a pick-up truck on Saskatoon Avenue in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
OPP said the caller reported the vehicle was unable to maintain its lane and had hit a curb.
After locating the vehicle and speaking with the driver, police said an impaired driving investigation was initiated, resulting in the accused being taken into custody and transported to a nearby detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 61-year-old Warkworth resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
