High school seniors in Northumberland County have an opportunity to receive a $2,500 scholarship through My Broadcasting Corporation’s Community First Scholarship program. The scholarship is open to students planning to pursue further education at a college, university, or trade school.
MBC Media’s VP of Programming, Rob Mise, says the scholarship aims to support students who value community involvement.
To apply, students must submit a 1- to 2-minute audio recording expressing what community means to them. The recording should conclude with the line: “My name is [name]. That’s what community means to me.” Applications must be received by June 3rd at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
Mise emphasizes the importance of community at MBC.
“We want to hear from students who truly understand and appreciate the role of community in their lives,” says Mise.
Mise emphasizes the simplicity of the application process. “It’s a straightforward way for students to share their thoughts and potentially receive support for their educational journey,” he explains.
Mise encourages students to take a few minutes and share their unique perspectives.
He also encourages all eligible students to apply. “Whether you’re heading to college, university, or into the trades, if you’re passionate about your community, we want to hear from you,” says Mise.
