Northumberland OPP said on Monday, May 19, 2025, at about 6:30 p.m., police allegedly observed a passenger vehicle unable to maintain its lane on County Road 30 in Brighton.
Following a stop of the vehicle, an impaired operation investigation was initiated, resulting in the driver being arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 56-year-old Brighton resident was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
In addition to being dished out a future court date, the accused had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
