Pride is returning to Trent Hills this June with a vibrant lineup of events across Campbellford, Hastings, and Warkworth, organisers announced Monday.
Running from June 2 to June 15, Trent Hills Pride 2025 will include flag raisings, film screenings, drag bingo, storytime, and a panel discussion focused on 2SLGBTQ+ youth in rural communities.
“We’re proud to bring together events that celebrate unity, diversity, and love,” said Emilio Ojeda, Chair of Trent Hills Pride. “In a time when 2SLGBTQ+ communities face increasing challenges across North America, Trent Hills Pride 2025 stands as a beacon of hope and resilience.”
Key highlights include Pride flag raisings across all three communities on June 2, a screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on June 5, and the popular Drag Bingo Extravaganza on June 6. The June 7 “Pride in the Park: Warkworth Magic!” event at Mill Creek Park features live music, a beer garden, and performances under the stars.
For families, there’s a June 7 storytime with Betty Baker and her puppet pal Butch, and on June 11, the Aron Theatre hosts a panel titled “Voices of Resilience,” highlighting the experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ youth in rural areas.
“Our events are more than just celebrations,” said Ojeda. “They are affirmations of love, diversity, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves to live authentically and without fear. Together, we shine brighter.”
