OPP say an investigation is continuing into a crash that claimed an 85-year-old Quinte West woman’s life.
According to Central Hastings OPP, the collision occurred on Hwy. 37, just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The crash shut down the highway between Denyes and Hoskin roads.
Police said two southbound vehicles were attempting to overtake another southbound vehicle. The passing vehicles made contact, and both drivers lost control of their vehicles, said police, in their latest update, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
The car left the road and entered the ditch, reported OPP.
One driver was rushed to a local hospital where the 85-year-old Quinte West was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Police said their investigation is continuing with help from members trained in collision reconstruction and the traffic incident management enforcement (TIME) team.
