You’re invited to cheer on ENSS grads as they light up Brighton with the return of the annual prom parade.
The long-time tradition that sees East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) grads dazzle and shine in their prom attire and vintage fire trucks and classic cars is set for Friday, May 30 at 4:15 p.m.
The parade is once again starting at the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church on Main Street. Grads will then make their way downtown, turn onto Dundas and end at the high school. Police and fire also normally provide escorts.
“Residents are encouraged to safely line the route and wave as graduates and their guests make their way to the high school,” said the municipality.
Normally, the parade draws in families, friends, shop owners, and more as they rally to cheer on grads and help celebrate the start of the next chapter for Brighton’s young adults.
The municipality said all roads will remain open during this year’s parade, with the exception of Terry Fox Drive, which will be closed at Elizabeth Street.
However, delays are expected, so residents are asked to plan accordingly. In previous years, the parade has lasted up to an hour to an hour-and-a-half at times.
