
A 26-year-old Trenton man is facing charges after Northumberland OPP says an officer clocked a vehicle at 107 km/h in a 50 zone in Brighton.
Northumberland OPP said the alleged incident happened June 13, at about 8:20 p.m., when police were conducting speed enforcement in the George Street area.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 26-year-old Trenton man was charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed, and speeding.
The accused had their licence suspended for 30 days and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
Meanwhile, police further allege that when dealing with the driver, a passenger exited the vehicle and started yelling at the officer.
Another 29-year-old man from Trenton was subsequently arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in Cobourg court on future dates.
