A two-vehicle collision in the Township of Hamilton has resulted in a slew of charges for a 19-year-old Hastings resident.
Northumberland OPP said emergency crews responded to the collision in the Racetrack Road and Harwood Road area just after 6 p.m. on June 14, 2025.
All involved parties were taken to hospital as a precaution, and injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, said police.
An impaired driving investigation on scene resulted in the arrest of one of the drivers, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said the 19-year-old Hastings resident was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, operation causing bodily harm, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus,) driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available, drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, and novice driver B.A.C. None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused had their licence further suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
Police continue to ask citizens if they know or suspect a driver is impaired to call 911 and ask motorists to make responsible choices when getting behind the wheel.
