A 53-year-old Cobourg man has been charged after police say they responded to an assault in-progress call at a residence Thursday evening.
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at about 7:50 p.m., the Cobourg Police Service said officers responded to a report of a man allegedly pushing a woman down the front steps of a residence in the south end of town.
Upon arrival, police said they found two individuals matching the descriptions provided.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with assault – spousal.
This charge has not been proven in court.
