A Quinte West man is facing charges after an alleged break-and-enter and theft of a vehicle in Belleville, and then the stolen truck was found in Grafton, say police.
The Belleville Police Service said on June 29 at about 9 a.m. police were notified that an unreported pick-up truck stolen from a business in the city’s northwest end had been found in Grafton by OPP.
Investigation allegedly later revealed a break-in at the business, and that the truck was stolen by driving it through a fence on the property, said police, adding that a man was found inside the stolen truck when it was located.
As a result of the investigation, police said the accused 28-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear in court in August, reported police.
