Belleville police are calling on the public for help after a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.
The Belleville Police Service says emergency crews, including police, fire and paramedics, responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Hwy. 2 between Mitchell Road and Burns Drive on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at about 10:48 p.m.
A 36-year-old Belleville man was transported to hospital at the scene and then pronounced deceased, reported police.
Police said no vehicle was at the scene, but glass and debris were scattered on the road.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are calling on any witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on July 2, or anyone with information relating to a vehicle that has damage to its windshield, to step forward.

The roadway was closed into this morning for the on-site investigation but has since reopened.
