
There’s been a bit of a slowdown in building activity the last month or so in Brighton, but year-to-date construction is still up over $70 million in comparison to last year, according to the latest municipal stats.
Brighton’s building permit record for June 2025 shows a total of 16 permits issued compared to 18 this time last year.
When looking at the year-to-date figures, 86 permits have been issued so far in 2025 compared to 85 at the same time last year.
While June dollar figures dipped – roughly $707,000 versus more than $2.4 million – when compared year over year, year-to-date figures are still up significantly from $33,367,500 in 2024 to $103,975,700 so far this year.
In terms of dwellings, residential units are up to 34 from 24 this time last year. June’s report also shows two additional residential units added this year.
