
An investigation is continuing after a 97-year-old pedestrian died following a crash in Carrying Place, say police.
Prince Edward County OPP said on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at about 5:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to a crash involving an SUV and pedestrian on County Road 3, west of Weese Road.
“As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 97-year-old from Prince Edward County, was pronounced deceased on scene,” confirmed police, in an update on the morning of Wednesday, July 16, 2025. “The driver of the SUV was not injured,” added police.
The collision shut down County Road 3 between Weese Road and Old Orchard Road for several hours as OPP’s technical collision investigation and reconstruction specialists were called in for the on-site investigation.
While the road has since reopened, the investigation is ongoing, said police.

No other details have been released.
