A Toronto resident is facing charges after patrol efforts in the County Road 30 Brighton area, says Northumberland OPP.
On Sept. 8, 2025, at about 9 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the County Road 30 area and observed a vehicle stopped and allegedly causing a hazard to passing traffic, said Northumberland OPP.
After speaking with the driver, an impaired driving investigation was initiated, reported police, adding the motorist was then arrested and transported to the police station for further testing.
A search of the individual and vehicle led to the discovery of a number of items believed to be obtained through crime, said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 38-year-old Toronto resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus,) four counts of possession of a credit card obtained by crime, possession of an identity document obtained by crime, having care or control of a vehicle with liquor readily available, and failure to have an insurance card.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
In addition to being dished out a future court date, the accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
