Looking for bargains and a way to help animals in need?
The Northumberland Humane Society Thrift Store at 24 Covert Street in Cobourg offers clothing, shoes, artwork, housewares, and even a pet boutique – with all proceeds going directly to care for animals at the NHS shelter.
The pet boutique offers brand new items for your pets – everything from toys to harnesses, collars and more – all generously donated by suppliers and manufacturers. These items are a hit with customers, and every purchase helps fund animal care at the Northumberland Humane Society.
Store coordinator Max Chipman says the clothing section continues to grow.
He adds that the shop is full of treasures for every shopper.
And for those looking for something special for their home, Chipman says the store has a large supply of ‘limited’ artwork.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and run almost entirely by volunteers – some with decades of service. Donations of new or gently used items in good condition are always welcome.
