A 47-year-old Quinte West woman is facing impaired driving, obstruction and additional charges after police say they followed up on a traffic complaint.
Quinte West OPP said on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at about 10:15 p.m., officers received a traffic complaint in the 2nd Dug Hill Road area, which after following up on, led police to suspect a motorist may have been impaired.
The investigation led to an arrest and the accused being transported to the OPP detachment where charges were laid, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said the 47-year-old was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, obstructing a peace officer, failure or refusal to comply with demand, and driving with no licence.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Oct. 23, 2025, reported OPP.
Police noted that the accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
Quinte West OPP continues to ask people to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
