An investigation is continuing after emergency crews responded to a report of a body in the water in the Victoria Park Belleville area this morning (Friday, Sept. 19, 2025.)
In a Belleville Police Service release, the service stated that on Friday, at about 9:20 a.m., police were called to Victoria Park in response to reports of a body in the water.
Belleville firefighters and paramedics also responded to the scene.
In the afternoon release, police confirmed a body had been recovered, but said until next of kin has been notified, no further details will be released.
Police said they’re no longer at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
No other details were released by police.
