Police say they’ve made an arrest after an alleged armed robbery and vehicle theft at a Picton gas station over the weekend.
Initially, Prince Edward County OPP reported the stolen vehicle was found not long after the alleged incident, but that the suspect was still at large.
In an update Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, police confirmed an arrest and a slew of charges laid.
As previously reported, police said shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 they responded to a reported robbery at a gas station in Picton.
“The masked individual – allegedly armed with a handgun – fled the scene in a stolen vehicle,” said police.
The incident prompted a response from multiple OPP units to ensure public safety while actively searching for the individual and vehicle involved, said police, adding that through a co-ordinated effort involving the tactics and rescue unit, emergency response team, canine unit, forensic identification services, and crime unit, the suspect was since identified and arrested.
As a result of the investigation, police said Dylan Barsley, 22, of Picton, was charged with robbery using firearm (restricted or prohibited), unauthorized possession of a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, disguise with intent, dangerous operation, two counts of flight from a peace officer, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
On Monday, police said the accused remained in custody scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Belleville court.
No other details were released by police.
