There won’t be any shortage of ways to ring in the New Year in Brighton – or chances to connect with Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander and council – with back-to-back celebrations in the works.
A New Year’s Levee Soiree is set for Jan. 8 at Northumberland Fine Food (39 Richardson St.), which will run 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be light refreshments provided and Ostrander will deliver remarks at 7 p.m., says the municipality.
For this event, attendees must RSVP online and confirm their attendance before Jan. 1.
The New Year’s Levee Skate event is also returning on Jan. 9 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the King Edward Park Arena. No RSVP is needed to attend this event, which features free public skating and a make-your-own hot chocolate bar.
And there will be a New Year’s Levee Brunch Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Codrington Community Centre where breakfast will be provided. Ostrander will deliver remarks at 10:30 a.m.
In this instance, again, attendees must RSVP online before Jan. 1.
Residents with questions about any of the events are encouraged to reach out to economic development and executive offices co-ordinator Caroline Birch at cbirch@brighton.ca or 613-475-0670 ext. 210.
This year’s mayor’s holiday card artwork was donated by Brighton artist and resident Rose Massey, notes the municipality.
