A Trenton man is facing charges after an intimate partner violence investigation in Northumberland, say police.
In late November 2025, OPP said officers received a report about multiple domestic incidents that occurred at two locations in Northumberland during September and October of this year.
As a result of the investigation, police said a suspect was taken into custody on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025.
The accused 28-year-old Trenton man was subsequently charged with two counts of assault with a weapon – spousal, assault – spousal, mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective, and four counts of mischief – destroys or damages property.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in Cobourg court in February.
Police said the accused won’t be named to protect the identity of the victim.
