Northumberland OPP says a 22-year-old Hastings man Hastings is facing impaired driving charges after a family dispute call in Trent Hills.
Police say officers responded to a report on County Road 8 shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 21. According to police, the complainant reported that a family member had taken a vehicle and hit residential property at the location while impaired.
When officers arrived, the individual was not immediately found. Police then called in the emergency response team and the accused was later found at a trailer on the property, report OPP.
The individual was taken into custody and transported to hospital for assessment of minor injuries that police say were sustained prior to officers arriving on scene.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in Cobourg court in February and also had his licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
