If you’re wondering about Christmas tree pick-up in the Brighton or Quinte West areas this year, we’ve got you covered.
Brighton’s public works team will start collecting real Christmas trees at the curb (weather permitting) north of the tracks on Jan. 7, 8 and 9.
Meanwhile, for residents south of the tracks, collection will occur on Jan. 12, 13 and 14.
Residents need to place their bare trees at the curb by 7 a.m. starting on Jan. 7. (All decorations, hooks and other items must be removed.)
All trees collected in Brighton will be chipped for compost. Residents also have the option of taking trees to the landfill. Again, there is no cost, and trees will also be collected and composted.
In the City of Quinte West, curbside Christmas tree collection is slated for Jan. 5 and 12.
Again, trees need to be free of all lights, ornaments, decorations, et cetera, and placed at the curb by 7 a.m.
In Frankford, real Christmas trees can also be dropped off at the yard waste depot during regular operating hours.
