A report of a man allegedly threatening staff at a business while holding a pair of scissors has resulted in serious charges, say Belleville police.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, at about 2:49 a.m., the Belleville Police Service said officers responded to a Dundas Street East business for a disturbance call.
“It was reported that a male was refusing to leave the building and was threatening staff while holding a pair of scissors,” said police.
Before police arrived on scene, the man allegedly fled the area on foot.
As a result of the investigation, police said they located, arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with no fixed address with two counts of assault with a weapon, criminal harassment, uttering threats, resisting a peace officer and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
