A Toronto man has been charged after an intimate partner violence investigation in Belleville, say police.
On Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at about 2:10 p.m., the Belleville Police Service said police responded to a west-end residence after a report of a domestic dispute.
It was reported that a man could be heard screaming from outside the residence, said police.
After arriving on scene, officers said they learned the man had been screaming at a woman and it was further reported in previous days that the man allegedly pushed the woman and slapped another individual and threw items inside the home, causing a disturbance.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 48-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with assault, assault – spousal, and mischief.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in court in March, reported police.
