WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4:
KNITCETERA: Swing by with your projects and share with other yarn enthusiasts. All fibre arts are welcome, as well as people who want to learn how to knit or crochet. No registration is needed. The fun runs from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Brighton Public Library.
SENIOR’S SKATE: Bust out those skates and hit the ice at Brighton’s King Edward Park Arena from 2 to 3 p.m.
PUBLIC SKATING: All are welcome at King Edward from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
TEEN SEWING: Hosted at the Quinte West Public Library, this event is geared to ages 13 to 17, and registration is required. The fun runs from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
FARMHOUSE WINDOW WORKSHIP IN THE GALLERY: Hosted at These 4 Walls, this one-of-a-kind farmhouse window workshop helps attendees use vibrant alcohol inks and beautifully detailed stencils to transform a rustic farmhouse window into a radiant piece of art capturing light like stained glass, but this is easier, say organizers. Runs 6 to 7:30 p.m.
THURSDAY, FEB. 5:
THE GATHERING BASKET: In this workshop, you’ll learn to weave a beautiful and functional round basket from start to finish. You’ll prepare the round base, stake up the sides, weave a 3-rod wale, shape a clean, beautiful border, and finish with a central wrapped handle. The event goes from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at The Branch Ranch in Warkworth.
A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS THE JOY OF POND HOCKEY AND MORE: Acrylic Paintings by Brian McFarlane. Artist, Author, and former Hockey Night in Canada Broadcaster. Brian McFarlane is known as Canada’s foremost hockey historian, a man who has been a player, a writer and a broadcaster of the game for over fifty years. In 2020, he was named to the Order of Canada. You’re invited to check things out at the Northumberland Arts Gallery from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
