The annual Ranney Gorge Run is returning to Trent Hills on Sunday, May 3, with registration now open for one of Ontario’s most scenic running events.
The run takes participants through Ferris Provincial Park and across the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, drawing runners and walkers from across Eastern and Central Ontario. Last year’s event welcomed more than 450 participants and raised over $34,000. Since its launch in 2018, the run has generated more than $184,000 to support local health care.
Funds raised through the event benefit Campbellford Memorial Hospital, helping to support patient care and the purchase of essential medical equipment. Organizers say the event’s growing regional appeal also provides an economic boost to the Trent Hills area.
Participants can choose from a 10.55-kilometre run or walk, a five-kilometre run or walk, or a one-kilometre fun run. Runners in the longer distances receive a race shirt, finisher medal, refreshments, and a post-race meal. Those who raise $150 or more in pledges are eligible for a refund of their registration fee, minus an administration charge.
This year, all pledges will be matched up to $10,000, doubling the impact of donations. In addition, registered participants will receive free access to the Hastings Field House walking track in the weeks leading up to race weekend.
Organizers say the Ranney Gorge Run continues to combine community spirit, outdoor activity, and meaningful support for local health care.
