It’s looking like another messy winter day and Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for eastern Northumberland and the Quinte regions.
Whiteout conditions were already being reported this morning (Tuesday, Feb. 10.)
Officials say a period of heavy snow is expected today, starting this morning and ending this afternoon or evening and will mean reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.
Snowfall amounts are being estimated between five and 10 centimetres now – up from the previously predicted two to four cm.
Officials say residents should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and should allow extra time for travel.
