Northumberland County says Acting Chief Administrative Officer Glenn Dees will conclude his time with the organization on March 13 as he moves on to a new professional opportunity.
Dees joined the county in 2009 in the finance department and became director of finance and treasurer in 2016, where he helped strengthen long term planning and oversaw the introduction of the municipality’s first comprehensive development charge framework.
In 2023, he took on leadership of the health and human services division, guiding operations at Golden Plough Lodge and supporting preparations for the move to a new facility expected in 2026.
The county says his portfolio also included oversight of social services, housing and homelessness programs, including establishment of an overnight warming room this winter and response efforts following the fire that displaced residents at an NCHC property in Colborne.
Dees later helped lead the opening of a medical walk in clinic in Port Hope and the launch of a physician recruitment initiative aimed at improving access to primary care across the region.
He has served as Acting CAO since October 2025.
Warden Bob Crate says Dees strengthened the organization’s financial footing while providing thoughtful and people focused leadership.
The county says updates on interim arrangements and the recruitment of a permanent CAO will be shared in the weeks ahead.
