Northumberland OPP has charged three motorists in unrelated impaired driving investigations in the townships of of Hamilton and Alwnick/Haldmimand.
On Feb. 11 at about 2 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pickup truck in the ditch on Hillview Drive North in Township of Hamilton.
Police say nearby telecommunications property had been damaged. Following an impaired operation investigation, police said a 30-year-old driver from Alnwick Haldimand Township was charged with impaired operation and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Cobourg court in April.
On Feb. 13 shortly after 3:30 p.m., police and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive commercial vehicle driver on Vimy Ridge Road.
A 33-year-old driver from Belleville was charged with impaired operation, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and having liquor and cannabis readily available in a vehicle, reported police.
The accused is due in Cobourg court in March.
Later, around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to another pick-up truck in the ditch on County Road 18. A 56-year-old driver from Roseneath was charged with impaired operation and exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit. That accused is also scheduled to appear in March.
In each case, police also said the accused had their licences suspended for 90 days and the vehicles impounded for seven days.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
