A great horned owl found injured is on the road to recovery thanks to some quick-thinking Brighton staffers and the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre.
Last week, members of the Municipality of Brighton’s public works team – Ashlei, Jon and Tylor – rescued an injured great horned owl found on the shoulder of a local road.
Through their quick actions, the owl was safely transported to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre for care and is now “expected to make a full recovery,” the municipality announced online.
“Once the owl has fully recovered, staff will work with Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre to co-ordinate releasing it back into the wild,” added officials, while thanking Brighton’s dedicated public works crews and the wildlife centre for the incredible work their staff and volunteers do daily.
