Community Care Northumberland’s new chief executive officer says his first two months on the job have reinforced just how vital the organization is to the county’s social fabric.
Jordan Prosper stepped into the CEO role earlier this year, succeeding longtime leader Trish Baird. Community Care Northumberland provides essential services including Meals on Wheels, transportation to medical appointments, wellness programs, caregiver supports and volunteer coordination – helping residents remain independent and connected.
Prosper says what stands out most is the culture behind the services.
He says Northumberland County operates collectively to reduce barriers to health, social and community supports – something he calls both inspiring and essential as needs continue to grow.
Looking ahead, Prosper says listening has been his top priority. He wants to strengthen core services while ensuring the organization evolves responsibly.
Prosper says Community Care’s long-term stability depends on continued volunteer engagement and donor support. The organization is inviting residents to learn more about volunteering opportunities through its website, newsletter and social media channels.
He says building a stronger, more connected Northumberland County will require everyone working together.
