A 19-year-old has died after crash in Belleville over the weekend and a Quinte West man arrested, say police.
On Saturday, March 21 at 11:25 p.m., police, fire and paramedics responded to a serious collision on Dundas Street West, said the Belleville Police Service.
A 19-year-old Belleville man had to be extracted from the vehicle and was transported to Kingston with life-threatening injuries, said police, on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, police said the 19-year-old – now identified as Samuel Brown – had succumbed to his injuries.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 49-year-old Quinte West man was arrested and charged and held for a bail hearing. However, police didn’t specify any charges and at press deadline, inquiries around what charges had been laid had gone unanswered.
In their Monday release, police said the investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided when they become available.
