Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s going on in Brighton and the surrounding areas over the next 48 hours.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25:
KNITCETERA: Hosted at the Brighton Public Library from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Drop in to share with other yarn enthusiasts and learn how to knit or crochet. No registration is needed.
SENIOR SKATE: Happening 2 to 3 p.m. at the King Edward Park Arena.
CREATIVE WRITING FOR BEGINNERS: This course is being led by award-winning local author Linda Rawlings from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Brighton Public Library. This is a three-week program, and registration is required for the special event.
SKATING: Brighton hosts its last big public skate for the season from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the King Edward Park Arena.
BRIGHTON LIONS’ BINGO: Runs 4 to 10 p.m. at the King Edward Park Community Centre.
BRIGHTON PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING: Running 7 to 8 p.m. in the library’s program room at 35 Alice St. All are welcome.
THURSDAY, MARCH 26:
BUSY BEES: Babies and caregivers can buzz on over to the Brighton Public Library for connection and to explore a variety of sensory activities. Runs 10 to 10:30 a.m.
PARENT AND TOT SKATE: Hosted at King Edward from 10 to 11 a.m.
SONG AND STORY HOUR: Join Terry and Penny for sing-alongs and stories during this one-hour program at the Brighton Public Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
ADULT SKATE: Hosted at King Edward from noon to 1 p.m.
TWEEN SCENE: For ages 11 to 14 at the Brighton library. Drop in for snacks, games, crafts and just hang out. The event runs from 3 to 4 p.m.
MUSIC IN THE LIBRARY: STRONG MASHUP: This local trio performs with a variety of stringed instruments and blends music styles from 60s pop, folk-rock, contemporary indie and original songs. No registration is needed. This special Brighton library event runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25:
You can catch the Presqu’ile Pirate in action at King Edward from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then there’s Brighton minor hockey at the arena from 7 to 10 p.m.
In between, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Skate Canada Brighton has the ice.
COMING UP:
The Trenton Golden Hawks aren’t back in action until Friday on home ice for Game 4 against the Newmarket Hurricanes.
The Frankford Huskies host the Lakefield Chiefs next for Game 4 in PJHL playoff action on Saturday.
In the GMHL, the Northumberland Stars have Game 4 against the River Dragons Friday in Wasaga.
