Entrepreneurs in Northumberland County are being encouraged to apply for a program designed to help small businesses grow and expand.
The Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland is now accepting applications for its Starter Company Growth program, which offers mentorship, training and financial support.
The program, supported by the Province of Ontario, is aimed at helping business owners build on their momentum by expanding operations, entering new markets or launching new products and services.
Participants will receive expert led training, one on one mentorship and access to networking opportunities. Successful applicants may also be eligible for a micro grant of up to $3,500, which can be reinvested into their business.
To qualify, businesses must have been operating full time in Northumberland for at least six months and be ready to take the next step in their growth.
The program builds on a range of services offered through BECN, which supports entrepreneurs at all stages through workshops, consultations and funding opportunities.
Local businesses that have taken part in previous programs have used the support to strengthen operations, improve marketing efforts and explore new revenue streams.
Applications are open until April 13, 2026, and spaces are limited. Funding is awarded through a competitive process, meaning not all applicants will receive a grant.
More information on eligibility and how to apply is available through the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland website.
Officials say the program plays an important role in supporting local economic development and helping small businesses succeed.
