Job seekers in Northumberland will soon have a chance to connect directly with employers as Watton Employment Services prepares to host its Spring Job Fair, pushing back against the perception that opportunities are limited in the current job market.
Employer Services Manager Donna Pinch says while headlines and statistics may suggest a challenging employment landscape, the reality on the ground tells a different story, with employers regularly reaching out looking for workers and a range of opportunities available across multiple sectors.
The event takes place at the Lions Community Centre on Elgin Street in Cobourg on Wednesday April 8th from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and will feature more than 25 employers, offering opportunities for both adult job seekers and students looking for summer or entry level work all in one place.
Employer Services Manager Donna Pinch says the format allows job seekers to make meaningful connections quickly.
Pinch says one of the biggest advantages is the chance to connect face-to-face, ensuring resumes are seen and conversations happen in real time.
Ahead of the event, Watton is encouraging job seekers to take advantage of its free services to prepare.
She says the organization supports job seekers of all ages and experience levels, from students to those considering a career change.
