A Belleville woman is facing charges after police say they responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in the west end of the city.
On Wednesday, April 8, just before midnight, the Belleville Police Service said officers responded after a report of a vehicle hitting other cars before colliding with a pole.
After arriving on scene, officers said they found the suspect vehicle off the roadway as it struck a hydro pole.
After speaking with the driver, police allege they were signs of impairment and then during the investigation, the woman “caused damage to a BPS instrument.”
As a result of the investigation, police said a 45-year-old Belleville woman was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and two counts of mischief – renders property inoperative.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in May, reported police.
